If you are exploring the possibilities of commissioning a mural please contact Helene Calci
If you've never commissioned a custom designed work before, the following is a quick outline concerning how the whole process works. After reading the information if you still have questions or concerns, please feel free to contact us, so that we can try to accommodate you. Free ConsultationWhen contacting us, please be as specific as possible when describing your needs. This enables us to better prepare for our meeting. We offer both day and evening consults and do our best to work around your schedule. At the initial consultation you will have a chance to view our portfolio. We will discuss in detail your wishes, view the space to be painted, take measurements, discuss sample specifications and supply you with a ballpark estimate after the basic idea is known. NOTE: This is also the best time to let us know if you have a certain budget or any time constraints that we may need to work within. Research and RenderingsIf you decide that you would like us to work on your project, we request an initial retainer fee. This fee would be a minimum of $200.00. This covers our time (approx. 4 hours) to research and create initial sketches, including revisions, as well as additional consultations and is applied to the final cost of the project. Should you decide not to proceed with the project, this fee is not refundable. From there we get started on sample boards and/or mural sketches and specifications we agreed upon. When completed these are delivered to you along with the bid package. PricingEvery project must be estimated on an individual basis. The average cost of a mural can range anywhere from $20 to $60 per square foot depending on the following factors: • size (one wall, one room, sq. ft. of the area, etc.) Prices include: Prices do not include: NOTE: We have a minimum fee of $500 per project. Murals on canvas (marouflage) cost the same as murals painted on site. Ceilings are charged at 1.5 times the rate (unless painted on canvas to be installed). Click here for the International Mural Pricing Guide Contract and SchedulingAfter the client approves the bid package and sketch samples, we sign the contract and schedule a starting time. We require a 20% deposit which would place your project next in line on the schedule. Another 30% would be due within a week of starting the project. The balance is due upon completion of the project. All jobs are on a first come, first served basis. Rush projects can be accommodated rarely and are subject to a 50% premium charge. If possible, be sure to book your job early. New jobs are continually coming in and many may be booked months in advance. The timeframe for a mural or hand painted design depends on the complexity and size of the project. A smaller scale mural can be painted over the course of a few days while larger and more intricate mural projects may take several weeks to complete. Hopefully this has helped explain the process and gives you an idea of the estimated cost of a project. If you have any further questions please contact Helene Calci
